Sunday Stamps ~ I Just HAD to :)

When I saw Kathya's fabulous colour combo this week at Sunday Stamps I just HAD to make a bumble bee card. I LOVE bumble bees and the new honeycomb embossing folder made it all the more easy for this card to come together. Please join us this week!

For my upcoming Stampers Club we are going to focus on New Fun Folds each month and this is one we will try out for sure, the Tent Fold Card.

Sunday Stamps ~ Happy Birthday George :)

This week I am hosting over at Sunday Stamps so please pop over and say hello! We are working with a sketch this week... I designed this sketch months ago and at the time I think I had something in mind but as some of you know after one baby your mind is fogging and after two your brain is all but gone :) So when I sat down to make a card for this sketch I had a hard time including all the elements I had intended. But as the rules go you do not have to follow the sketch exactly just as long as the key elements are the same!

Our little man is quite the popular kiddo and went to birthday party number 3 so far this month yesterday and this is the card I made for his little friend. It is another card you can add a gift card too. I thought that would be best considering it was just Christmas, perhaps George's parents may want to tuck it away for a rainy day and have him pick out a toy a little later in the year :)

Seems like all I have time for these days are quick posts but I guess quick posts are better than no posts :)

Here is a cute little project idea that I got from a Stampin' UP! event I went to last month. I put my own spin on it and I will be making these with our son this week as Valentines for his preschool class.

I am entering this little guy in the Create with Connie & Mary treat challenge!

Try Stampin' on a Tuesday & The Paper Players ~ Tea for 2!

Hope you all had a nice weekend :) Popping in with a quick post before the family sits down to dinner.

Here is a fun project we will be making at my Stampers Club this week. It is a little 3" x 3" box and inside there is a sweet little pocket card with 2 tea bags which will act as an invite to tea for a friend. I ran out of time today so could not add a photo but also what will be in the box for my stampers are two little handmade cookie pouches using matching colours and window sheet.

For this project I used the sketch from Try Stampin' on a Tuesday (Happy 2 Year Birthday to you all!) and the colour challenge over at The Paper Players

I will be back tomorrow to update this blog post with a tutorial for how to make this cute this box & tea bag pouch and also the recipe for the project but I hear the dinner bell ringing... :)

Sunday Stamps, Freshly Made Sketch & Technique Time Tuesday ~ Miracles DO Happen

I sat down to create this card and I really did not know which direction to go in. So I thought first I will pick a stamp set, I had an order arrive last week and had a few new stamp sets that I was dying to ink up and I decided on Bloomin' Marvellous from the Sale a Bration catalogue with Stampin' UP! The stamp "Miracles Happen" caught my eye and it got me thinking, miracles really do happen.

Our son Ethan was born in February 2009 and we were so overjoyed to finally be parents, to experience that kind of love for another person is something that you truly cannot explain until you feel it. As we watched him grow into a little boy we decided it was time to give him a little brother or sister and so in  March of 2011 we thought the time was right. We were overjoyed when we conceived on the very first month we tried (as we had with Ethan) we felt that it was meant to be and were very excited to welcome a new person into our family early in the coming year. Sadly 2 months later that joy become tremendous sorrow when we lost our baby. To experience that kind of pain is something that again you cannot explain until you feel it. We took some time to heal and decided that by the end of the summer we would try again. We knew we wanted another child and felt very strongly that Ethan deserved a sibling to share his life with.

September 2011 rolled around and we were once again filled with joy that we were expecting again. Of course this time we were also a little frightened but thought no way that will happen again, this baby is our baby and will be joining our family in the spring. Weeks later the unthinkable happened and we lost another child. This second loss hit us much harder I believe than the first as now we really started to feel that something was wrong. So we sought out help from a fertility specialist to help us sort through what may be going on. After months of testing we were given a lot of "it could be this, or it could be that" but never any determinate answers. We thought long and hard and decided we would give it one final shot, I didn't know if my heart could handle another loss but something told me that I had to try.

February 2012, almost a year ago to the day we found out that we were expecting once more. We were cautiously happy and decided we would wait a while before we told Ethan this time. Each week that passed by I felt a little stronger, each month the passed by I felt a great deal more hopeful and before we knew it our healthy, beautiful baby girl was born. Ethan finally had his little sister and our family was complete. So do I believe that miracles can happen, you bet I do!

The reason I decided to share this story with you lovely ladies is because the single most thing that helped me through a very difficult time in our lives was the love and courage people showed us by sharing their stories of loss. It is still something that people like to pretend does not happen and that is very sad. The one thing you do not want to feel after something like this happens to you is alone. So ladies and gents it all happens on your own time but share your stories with someone you know needs it because you have no idea how much it can help to heal their heart.

 Our two Miracles!

So back to the crafty bits... :)

For this card I used our colour challenge over at Sunday Stamps (thank you Tara for teaching me how to hyperlink EEEE!), and I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, and lastly the embedded image technique challenge over at Technique Time Tuesday.

Connie & Mary ~ By the Tide

Thank goodness Mark has solved the problem with my computer issues and I am back up and running without issue!

Here is the Twisted Easel card I am entering in the Connie & Mary Sketch Challenge. As most of you I am sure have a lack of "man" cards I do too and have started to try to make a few to add to my box of cards to have on hand.

When the new mini came out I was totally in love with this new DSP and for me it sort of felt somewhat Nautical? Not necessarily the patterns but more the colours so I thought I would pair it up with a new set that arrived last week By the Tide! Being from the East Coast I knew I had to get this set :)
